A double major allows a student to pursue two primary programs concurrently: her original primary program and a second primary program offered by her college or another college. The second primary program consists of a specified percentage of the program requirements, excluding University requirements, elective courses, field training hours, and the graduation project.

A.     General Regulations

Enrollment in a double major is optional for undergraduate students. To enroll in a double major, students must:

  1. Be enrolled in a primary program.
  2. Have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.75 out of 5.00.
  3. Have completed all first-year requirements of their primary program. Students may not apply after completing the second year.
  4. Enroll in only one double major.
  5. Students enrolled in a minor may not apply for a double major.
  6. Comply with the PNU Study and Examinations Regulations and their Implementing Rules.

B.     Requirements

To apply for a double major, a student must:

  1. Be enrolled at the University.
  2. Have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.75 out of 5.00.
  3. Have completed all first-year requirements of her primary program. Students may not apply after completing the second year.
  4. Eligible applicants will be automatically and competitively evaluated based on the number of seats available in each double major, their cumulative GPA, and any additional requirements set by the relevant college.
  5. The Deanship of Admission and Registration will announce the application dates, procedures, and admission requirements for double majors.

 

Study Duration

  • Students must complete the double major requirements concurrently with the graduation requirements of their primary program.
  • The study period is the standard duration approved for the primary program under the Universities Law. The University Council, or its delegate, may approve an extension of up to one academic year (two semesters) beyond the program's standard duration to allow the student to complete the double major requirements.

*Note: The requirements for enrolling in double majors may be updated each semester based on the requirements approved by each college.

  1. The application service will be available online during the announced application period.
  2. Students may submit only one double-major preference during the specified application period. Additional applications will not be considered.
  3. Applying does not guarantee enrollment in the double major. Applications will be reviewed, and successful applicants will be notified of approval based on the selection results.
