Article (20) of the Undergraduate Study and Examination Regulations
A student shall be dismissed from the University in the following cases:
- If she receives three consecutive academic warnings due to a cumulative GPA below the graduation requirement specified in Article (19) of these Regulations. The University Council may, upon the recommendation of the College Council, grant a fourth opportunity to students who may be able to raise their cumulative GPA by completing available courses.
- If she fails to complete graduation requirements within a maximum period exceeding the standard completion period by half of its duration. The University Council may grant the student an exceptional extension to complete graduation requirements, provided that the extension does not exceed twice the standard completion period.
- In exceptional cases, the University Council may address the status of students to whom the two preceding provisions apply by granting an exceptional extension of no more than two semesters.
PNU Executive Rule for Article (20)
A student shall be academically dismissed from the University in any of the following cases:
- If she receives three consecutive academic warnings due to a cumulative GPA below 2.00 out of 5.00, the Deanship of Admission and Registration may grant her a fourth opportunity if completing certain available courses could raise her cumulative GPA to the required level.
- If she fails to complete graduation requirements within a maximum period exceeding the standard completion period by half of its duration.
- The College Council may grant a student referred to in the preceding case an exceptional extension to complete graduation requirements, provided that it does not exceed two semesters. The University Council (or its authorized representative) may grant an additional exceptional extension of no more than two semesters, provided that the total period does not exceed twice the standard completion period.
- The summer semester is not included when calculating the exceptional extension period.
- A student enrolled in the Colleges of Medicine and Dentistry shall be dismissed from the University if she receives two consecutive academic warnings due to a cumulative GPA below 2.50 out of 5.00.
