The student is allowed to withdraw from a course electronically through the Banner system, provided that the number of registered hours after withdrawing from a course does not fall below the minimum academic load. Withdrawing from a course does not affect the student's eligibility for honors if the conditions for granting them are met according to the executive regulations of the University's study and examination bylaws.

Conditions for withdrawing from a course:​The number of registered hours after withdrawing should not be less than the minimum academic load.

Withdrawing from courses in the first year is not allowed.

When requesting to withdraw from a course for a concurrent course with another course, both courses will be automatically dropped if the withdraw request for either course is approved.

The following guidelines apply for students in:

Bachelor's degree: withdrawing for (5) courses during their study period, not exceeding two courses in one semester.

Diploma: withdrawing for (3) courses during their study period, not exceeding one course in one semester.

Withdrawing from a course is not allowed for students at the Arabic Language Institute

The expected graduating student is allowed to withdraw from a course according to the following conditions:

The number of registered hours after withdrawing should not be less than (12) hours.

If the number of registered hours after withdrawing is less than (12) hours, the request will be presented to the Permanent Committee for Studying Students' Cases at the Admissions and Registration Deanship.

Note:


Withdrawing for all registered courses is considered A Leave of Absence for a semester and not a single course. A request for A Leave of Absence must be submitted instead.

The student must attend the lectures for the course they wish to withdraw from until the request is processed on the system by the Admissions and Registration Deanship. Please take note of this.​
