Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, represented by its various colleges and deanships, organized a series of events in conjunction with World Arabic Language Day, aiming to enhance awareness of the importance of using the Arabic language among the university community, including students and both academic and administrative staff. The events also sought to highlight the historical significance of the Arabic language and showcase its civilizational, scientific, and cultural contributions. All activities were held on the university campus. The events featured a range of cultural activities, including panel discussions on “The Arabic Language and Identity Formation.” These discussions focused on two main themes: the role of social media in strengthening linguistic identity, and the digitalization of linguistic identity in the context of Saudi architectural heritage. Another panel discussion titled “The Reality of the Arabic Language and Pride in It” highlighted the importance, richness, and authenticity of the Arabic language, emphasizing awareness of its value and its cultural depth and evolution. Activities across the campus varied and included an Arabic proofreading competition aimed at reinforcing the status of the Arabic language and showcasing its role in preserving cultural identity; a visual presentation titled “We Are Proud of It”; and the recitation of two poems, “The Wedding of Ḍhad” and “The Language of Pride,” both of which eloquently illustrated the beauty of the Arabic language. In addition, awareness messages were shared through the university’s internal communication channels. These events, organized in conjunction with World Arabic Language Day at Princess Nourah University, contribute to achieving the objectives of the university’s Strategic Plan 2025 by highlighting the role of the Arabic language among its community members, fostering a culturally and socially enriching campus environment, and promoting the development of linguistic skills, knowledge, and values.
