The journey of empowering female engineers started with the establishment of the College of Engineering at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, in line with the Saudi Vision 2030 objectives, which has palced significant emphasis on women's advancement, including creating opportunities in engineering fields. Since its establishment in 1439 AH (2017/2018 AD), the College of Engineering has been continuously expanding, adding new programs until it reached a total of seven undergraduate programs, with approximately one program introduced each year. The programs are as follows: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering - Electronics Engineering,Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering - Renewable Energy Engineering, Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering - Communications Engineering, Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering, Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering, Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering and Bachelor of Science in Mechatronics & Robotics Engineering.
The college is expanding its range of specialized programs at different academic levels, including Master's degree in Supply Chain Management and in Robotics Science, which will soon be launched as its inaugural graduate programs.
The college has focused heavily on building professional partnerships with all three sectors to bridge the gap between academic education and the job market. This approach has been successful, as all of its graduates in recent years have secured specialized positions in organizations that are thriving in the job market. To ensure the high quality of its graduates, the college has provided students with professional certifications during their studies, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills to enter the workforce.
The college's efforts to enhance its outcomes go beyond graduating students; the development has also extended to the second key element of the educational process—faculty members. The college has made a concerted effort to improve their teaching skills and connect them with the job market, fostering a dynamic learning environment in the classroom that is closely linked to industry demands. Moreover, the college has actively supported faculty researchers in publishing high-quality academic work by providing the necessary resources and support through the university's available channels.
Lastly, the College of Engineering's efforts for development will continue, constantly enhancing every aspect of the educational process to ensure that its graduates remain a standout presence in the job market, just as they are today. Reaching the top is challenging, but staying there is even more so.
The College of Engineering at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University isn't just one option among many; it is the only choice for those seeking excellence, creativity, and innovation.
