The journey of empowering female engineers began
with the establishment of the College of Engineering at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University in 1439 AH, in
realization of Saudi Vision 2030, which assigned women a central role in
development and provided them with promising opportunities in engineering
fields. Since its establishment, the College has pursued carefully planned
expansion in its academic programs until the number of bachelor’s programs
reached seven specialized programs, introduced progressively to meet labor
market demands and keep pace with technological developments. The College also
seeks to strengthen its academic journey through expanding graduate programs by
launching specialized master’s programs in modern fields, representing the
beginning of its advanced academic degrees. Furthermore, the College has placed
significant emphasis on building effective professional partnerships with
governmental, private, and non-profit sectors to bridge the gap between
academic education and labor market requirements. This has been reflected in
the success of its graduates and their recruitment into distinguished
specialized positions. To ensure the quality of outcomes, the College supports
its students in obtaining professional certifications, while also developing
faculty competencies, linking them to practical applications, and supporting
scientific research and academic publishing. The College reaffirms its
commitment to continuous development so that its graduates remain a hallmark of
excellence, creativity, and innovation in the labor market.
