The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University concluded yesterday, Monday, 2 February 2026, the “Next Generation Retail Sector Challenge” bootcamp, with the participation of 60 male and female participants, in cooperation with the Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority (Monsha’at) and the Retail Leaders Circle (RLC). The bootcamp witnessed the participation of approximately 16 innovative and entrepreneurial projects addressing local challenges facing the retail sector in the fields of fashion, restaurants and cafés, catering and pharmacies. The projects presented practical and innovative solutions to real challenges in the retail sector, based on market understanding, customer experience, and the improvement of operational processes and business models. The closing ceremony included presentations of the innovative teams’ projects before a specialized judging panel to evaluate ideas, solution models, and their applicability in the retail sector, as part of the bootcamp’s program aimed at transforming challenges into innovative opportunities. It is worth noting that the bootcamp included field visits to understand challenges directly from the ground, analyze them, and transform them into developable innovative opportunities. It also contributed to linking theoretical knowledge with practical application through fieldwork, sector interaction, and the development of realistic solutions. The organization of this bootcamp falls within the efforts of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center to achieve the objectives of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University’s strategic plan, which aims to empower female students with future skills, promote a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship, enrich knowledge and skills, and provide competitive outputs that contribute to building the society of the future.
