Key Responsibilities

Planning:

  • Preparing the five-year and annual plan for the Secretariat, and follow up on its implementation after it is approved.
  • Preparing the strategic and annual plans for the research chairs.
  • Preparing​ the unified estimated budget for the research chairs, including their expected resources and expenditures according to their items, based on what is received from the professors of the research chairs at least three months before the beginning of the fiscal year, in preparation for presenting it to the Council and making the necessary recommendations.
  • Searching for sponsors for the research chairs.

Managing:

  • Recommending the approval of the regulations and rules governing the administrative and financial aspects of the research chairs, and raise them to the Research Chairs Council.
  • Appointing professors for the research chairs.
  • Preparing the executive regulations for the research chairs.
  • Recommending the establishment of research chairs and raise them.
  • Approving the continuation of research chairs, and stop the chairs whose funders cease funding.​

Preparing:

  • ​the annual reports for the research chairs, and raising them to the University Council.
  • the guidance manual for the research chairs.
  • the financial and administrative forms and contracts for the research chairs.
  • the media launch for the new research chairs.

Improving:

  • Providing suggestions for the research chairs to develop their work and increase their effectiveness.
  • Holding workshops, seminars, and training to increase the efficiency of the Secretariat or the professors of the research chairs.
  • Establishing scientific cooperation between the research chairs at the university and the corresponding chairs and research centers at other universities, both internally and externally.​
