The College of Medicine at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University is organizing, on Thursday 30 January 2025, the training program “Internship Day,” targeting medical students from Saudi universities, to be held at the Medical Skills and Simulation Center. The program aims to prepare participants for the internship year by introducing the internship year framework and its governing regulations, with a focus on rights, responsibilities, and related requirements. It also provides guidance on selecting an appropriate elective clinical specialty aligned with participants’ career pathways. The two-day program includes interactive guidance lectures and discussion sessions delivered by more than (28) speakers from various medical specialties, addressing a range of key topics, including: residency programs in Saudi Arabia and their admission requirements; how to choose a subspecialty; information about the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties examination; the external scholarship program; and an overview of the accredited training centers for each specialty, as well as the nature of each field, its alignment with labor market needs, and its importance in serving the community. The program contributes to providing a comprehensive perspective on pathways into medical education programs, master’s studies, and local and international training opportunities, by offering professional support and specialized consultations from experts and consultants in the relevant specialties. “Internship Day,” held annually, reflects the College of Medicine’s contributions to achieving Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University’s Strategic Plan 2025 goals by aligning educational outcomes with labor market needs, strengthening knowledge, skills, and values, and supporting competitive competencies in the medical field.
