Deanship of Development and Quality Holds the Sixth Annual “Welcome Noura” Meeting

The Deanship of Development and Quality at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University held today, Tuesday, 20 August 2024, the sixth annual “Welcome Noura” meeting, which is held annually for newly appointed female faculty members and those returning from scholarship programs. The event aims to introduce them to the university’s services supporting education and scientific research, and to provide an opportunity for networking and experience exchange. The meeting was held at the university’s central library. The meeting opened with a speech by Her Excellency the President of the University, Dr. Enas bint Suleiman Al-Issa, who welcomed the newly appointed faculty members and those returning from scholarships upon earning their academic degrees. She emphasized the vital role of faculty members in enhancing scientific research, serving the community, creating an educational environment that enables students to achieve intended learning outcomes, and aligning educational outputs with labor market needs. During the meeting, the Dean of Development and Quality, Dr. Alaa bint Saleh Al-Luhaidan, presented an overview of the university, its strategic plan, and the key services provided to faculty members to support teaching, learning, and scientific research. She also highlighted the Deanship of Academic Development and its pivotal role in training university affiliates to obtain professional and specialized certificates, in addition to the role of the Teaching and Learning Excellence Program in supporting applications for the International Higher Education Academy Fellowship. The meeting included a panel discussion titled “Together for Noura’s Excellence,” focusing on Princess Nourah University’s support for faculty members, with the participation of a number of university leaders. It also featured an introductory exhibition on the logistical services provided by the university to its faculty members, with the participation of 13 university sectors. This meeting is part of the Deanship of Development and Quality’s efforts to support Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University’s 2025 strategic plan, aimed at enhancing the level of services provided to faculty members at both educational and professional levels, promoting women’s leadership in educational development, and strengthening the research and innovation ecosystem.
