The Artificial Intelligence Center at the College of Computer and Information Sciences, at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, has launched the fifth edition of its AI Newsletter under the title “Ethical Considerations of Artificial Intelligence Applications.” The edition highlights the most prominent ethical issues associated with the development and adoption of AI solutions, with the aim of protecting privacy, promoting transparency, and emphasizing the role of principles and regulatory frameworks in fostering responsible use. In this fifth edition, several experts contribute topics and scientific studies that reflect the importance of the responsible use of artificial intelligence in a way that creates positive impact while safeguarding the rights of individuals and society. The newsletter covers a number of topics, including: “Ethics in Artificial Intelligence: Balancing Innovation and Human Values,” “From Data to Decision: Bias in Artificial Intelligence Systems,” as well as “Deepfakes and Identity Impersonation,” and “Ethics of Generative Artificial Intelligence.” The periodic newsletter issued by the Center aims to serve as a comprehensive reference for researchers, students, and specialists in AI applications by providing informative and awareness-focused content that highlights the role of these technologies in enhancing quality of life and enabling innovative solutions through advanced technologies.
