Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University Wins Five Medals and an International Award at the 51st Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions

Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, represented by the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center, won five medals and an international award during its participation in the 51st Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions, held in Geneva, Switzerland, with the participation of up to 1,000 inventors from 40 countries around the world. The Center achieved three gold medals for scientific inventions, including the invention titled “A Technology for Manufacturing Nanocomposites Using Plants for Supercapacitor Devices.” The invention also received a special award for invention and innovation from the Chinese Association of Inventions (CAI Award for Invention and Innovation), presented by Dr. Thamra Al-Shahrani, with the participation of a research team from Saudi and international universities. The invention “ARDN,” a smart walking aid for the elderly, received a gold medal and a jury commendation. It was presented by Dr. Madawi Al-Otaibi and Dr. Afrah Al-Mowais, with the participation of students: Layan Al-Zouman, Ohoud Al-Fifi, Wejdan Al-Shanifi, Bayan Al-Ahmari, Noura Al-Mousa, and Elaf Al-Anazi. The invention “Mareen,” a smart platform that uses artificial intelligence for joint rehabilitation, also won a gold medal. It was presented by Dr. Hanan Al-Juaid, with the participation of students: Rahaf Masmali, Shahad Al-Hajri, Abrar Al-Ghamdi, and Deem Al-Mutairi. In the same context, the Center received a silver medal for the invention “Nesmah,” a smart in-ear wearable device for patients with multiple sclerosis. The invention was presented by Dr. Madawi Al-Otaibi and Dr. Afrah Al-Mowais, with the participation of students: Daad Al-Humaid, Dalia Bin Shaye, Fatimah Al-Mohsen, Najd Al-Khushayban, Rahaf Al-Sharif, and Sarah Al-Subaie. The Center also received a bronze medal for the invention “Multi-Sensory Car Seat for Children,” presented by Dr. Madawi Al-Otaibi. The participation of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center in the exhibition, held from 11 to 15 March 2026, aimed to enhance the scientific presence of Saudi universities on the international stage, exchange knowledge and expertise, and provide opportunities for participants to connect with inventors and researchers from around the world and introduce them to the University, in addition to collaborating with those interested in the commercial marketing of inventions. This participation reflects the Center’s efforts to contribute to achieving the strategic objectives of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University by providing a supportive academic environment for faculty members, preparing a generation capable of competing locally and globally, actively contributing to achieving sustainable development goals, enhancing impactful international presence, and building bridges of communication with local and global communities.
