The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University announced the opening of registration for “Noura Hackathon” to empower female students, university students, and individuals interested in innovation and entrepreneurship in the fields of technology, design, and artificial intelligence. Registration will remain open until Sunday, 1 March 2026. The hackathon focuses on enabling participants to acquire design thinking and social entrepreneurship skills and on utilizing artificial intelligence as a supportive tool throughout the various stages of innovation, from understanding challenges to developing solutions. This contributes to stimulating institutional innovation, reinforcing values of belonging and active citizenship, and building a sustainable innovative community. The hackathon includes a package of activities and programs, such as a virtual boot camp, training and guidance workshops, and specialized sessions with mentors and experts. These activities aim to design prototypes, transform ideas into applicable initiatives, and connect participants with academics and professionals in the field, with the participation of several strategic partners, thereby enhancing Saudi identity in the creative sector. The hackathon addresses four main challenge domains: the “Technology” domain, through designing smart solutions to improve delivery services within the university campus; the “Health” domain, by presenting innovative educational and technological solutions to enhance equality in educational opportunities; the “Culture” domain, by activating the cultures of the Kingdom’s regions within the university to strengthen national identity and belonging; and the “Environment” domain, through developing solutions that contribute to reducing waste on campus and promoting sustainable environmental behavior. “Noura Hackathon” is an educational innovation platform that aims to transform participants’ ideas into realistic, applicable solutions through an integrated experience that combines design thinking, teamwork, and open innovation to address real challenges within the university.
