College of Computer and Information Sciences Concludes “Game Builders Bootcamp” to Develop Students’ Technical Skills

The Artificial Intelligence Center at the College of Computer and Information Sciences at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University concluded the “Game Builders Bootcamp,” held as part of the Artificial Intelligence Community (AI Hub) initiative, aimed at empowering students to develop digital games and transition from hobbyists to professionals through a hands-on training experience. The five-day bootcamp offered an applied educational experience focused on building modern interactive games through practical training on the Unity game engine, as well as the use of virtual reality (VR) technologies, thereby enhancing participants’ capabilities in designing and developing digital projects in line with the requirements of the modern technology sector. The bootcamp included a series of training modules covering fundamentals of the Unity environment, game structure development, gameplay programming and control mechanisms, user interface and user experience (UI/UX) design, and integrating virtual reality technologies into game development, delivered by specialists in the field. The Director of the Artificial Intelligence Center at the College of Computer and Information Sciences, Dr. Shorouq Al-Sannan, stated that the bootcamp comes within the center’s efforts to enable students to acquire advanced technical skills and strengthen women’s presence in digital innovation and game development fields in line with the rapid advancements in artificial intelligence and virtual interaction technologies. The organization of the bootcamp is part of the center’s efforts to provide high-quality programs that build students’ technical capabilities, enhance their readiness to participate in future digital industries, and contribute to achieving the strategic objectives of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University through excellence in teaching and learning and the enhancement of skills, knowledge, and values.
