A group of female students from the College of Computer and Information Sciences at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University participated in the “Digital Heritage 2025” Conference, held from December 9 to 10, 2025, with the aim of showcasing innovative student projects in the field of artificial intelligence.
Students majoring in Artificial Intelligence presented several innovative projects, most notably the project “Mathlouth”, developed by students Raya Al-Dosari, Lamia Al-Salem, Moudi Al-Hamdan, and Sun Al-Omar, under the supervision of Dr. Noha Al-Dosari. The project explores the role of artificial intelligence technologies in preserving Saudi heritage by utilizing generative models to produce 3D representations that reflect Saudi culture and heritage. “Mathlouth” was nominated by the Heritage Commission to participate in the conference events.
The participation also included two digital games produced as outcomes of the Game Development Bootcamp held at the College Innovation Center. These projects highlighted Saudi heritage in an interactive manner. The first project, “Bayt Al-Sha’ar”, was presented by students Lujain bin Dawood, Rana Abu Hameed, Janna Abu Alout, and Remas Atif. It is a short adventure game inspired by the 95th Saudi National Day, aiming to celebrate national identity through an interactive experience that combines learning and entertainment.
The second project, “Suwair”, was developed by students Maria Al-Hanaki, Layan Al-Tamimi, Haneen Al-Shammari, Shouq Al-Deraan, and Nora Al-Jaloud. The game is an adventure story centered around a young girl who embarks on a journey full of challenges within a Saudi heritage-inspired setting.
The conference brought together specialists, researchers, and enthusiasts in the field of digital heritage and modern technologies. It aims to showcase the latest initiatives and projects that contribute to preserving national heritage in particular and global heritage in general, through the utilization of advanced technologies, in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030, which emphasizes digital transformation and the creative economy.
The Dean of the College of Computer and Information Sciences, Dr. Manal Al-Ohali, stated that “the participation of the College’s students in the conference represents a living model of integrating modern technologies with national heritage. It reflects a strong commitment to preserving cultural identity and fostering creative thinking in digital technologies.” She added, “We are proud of these achievements, which contribute to strengthening the Kingdom’s role in innovation and heritage preservation through cutting-edge technological solutions.”
The participation of the College of Computer and Information Sciences comes as part of its contribution to achieving the innovation ecosystem outlined in the strategic plan of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University 2025. This is achieved by empowering female students, enhancing their active participation in various technical forums, and affirming their growing presence in technology and innovation fields, highlighting their ability to compete globally and achieve distinguished accomplishments
