The College of Medicine at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, in cooperation with the Live Healthy Initiative affiliated with the Ministry of Health, will organize the “A Year for Health” event on Saturday, 3 January 2026, under the patronage of the Acting President of the University, Dr. Fawziah bint Sulaiman Al-Amro, with the participation of a number of health entities and sectors. “A Year for Health” is an interactive awareness event aimed at promoting health awareness among the university’s students and staff, as well as members of the wider community. The event focuses on promoting a culture of prevention by adopting healthier lifestyles, raising awareness of sustainable healthy habits, and making physical activity an integral part of daily life, in line with enhancing the concept of quality of life within the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. The event, held on campus, includes two main tracks: a walking fitness track and a dedicated cycling track, implemented in collaboration with the College of Sport Sciences and Physical Activity. This provides an interactive experience that combines health knowledge with practical application of physical activity. The event will also feature a variety of interactive booths, awareness, educational, and health services, with the participation of more than 15 hospitals, universities, and health organizations, in addition to teams of specialists and volunteers. These efforts aim to raise awareness of daily healthy practices and encourage the community to adopt healthier choices, thereby contributing to the preservation of public health. The Dean of the College of Medicine, Dr. Reem Al-Harbi, stated that the “A Year for Health” event embodies the College of Medicine’s commitment to its community role and translates its mission of building sustainable health awareness, encouraging the adoption of an active and balanced lifestyle in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030 toward a healthier society and improved quality of life. The “A Year for Health” event comes as part of the College of Medicine’s commitment at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University to supporting impactful community initiatives and contributing to the achievement of the University’s strategic plan by raising health awareness, promoting physical activity, and reinforcing healthy behaviors as key pillars of prevention and quality-of-life improvement.
