Arabic Language Teaching Institute for Non-Native Speakers Organizes the Forum “Teaching Arabic in Light of Artificial Intelligence Technologies”

The Arabic Language Teaching Institute for Non-Native Speakers at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University organized, on Sunday, 28 December 2025, the forum titled “Teaching Arabic in Light of Artificial Intelligence Technologies: Experiences and Aspirations.” The forum was held at the University’s Conference and Seminar Center, in the presence of Her Excellency the Acting President of the University, Dr. Fawziyah bint Sulaiman Al-Amro, and with the participation of researchers and specialists in the fields of Arabic language education and artificial intelligence. The forum aimed to highlight efforts to develop Arabic language education in light of digital transformations, anticipate its future, enhance the efficiency of its educational outcomes, and review prominent research experiences and global best practices through the effective employment of artificial intelligence technologies. Her Excellency the Acting President of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, Dr. Fawziyah bint Sulaiman Al-Amro, affirmed that “the Arabic language is the essence of identity, a driver of development, and a fundamental component in building a global knowledge-based society that takes pride in its roots while confidently advancing toward the future.” She further noted that “Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University is working to shape a pioneering national model for Arabic language education by developing advanced educational and research programs and adopting smart solutions within the contemporary digital landscape.” The forum program addressed several key themes related to the role of artificial intelligence in supporting the teaching of Arabic to non-native speakers. These themes included presenting innovative smart methods and tools that contribute to the development of linguistic skills, reviewing technological applications that enhance Arabic language learning, and discussing the effectiveness of integrating artificial intelligence technologies into education through the presentation of successful educational models and experiences. The forum also featured a companion exhibition titled “Noura: A Forum of Civilizations,” aimed at promoting global citizenship and cultural integration. In addition, an international cultural exhibition was held with the participation of the Institute’s students from various countries around the world, reflecting the diversity of cultural identities through folklore, handicrafts, and traditional attire. The exhibition included introductory booths for external entities, as well as educational and technological institutions and public libraries, highlighting the latest innovations in artificial intelligence in education and language learning. This contributed to enriching knowledge content and strengthening the cultural dimension of the forum. During the forum, the educational series “Nibras” was officially launched. The series was designed to serve learners of Arabic who are non-native speakers, with the aim of developing Arabic language education and contributing to its global dissemination in a manner that meets learners’ linguistic and cognitive needs. The forum “Teaching Arabic in Light of Artificial Intelligence Technologies: Experiences and Aspirations” comes as part of the roles undertaken by the Arabic Language Teaching Institute for Non-Native Speakers to contribute to achieving the objectives of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University’s Strategic Plan 2025. This is achieved through supporting high-quality initiatives related to the Arabic language and enhancing its civilizational role locally and globally, as a fundamental pillar in building a distinguished knowledge-based society.
