A student from the College of Computer and Information Sciences at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University participated in the international Aspiring Teen Award, organized by TECHWOMEN IN in Paris. The award is dedicated to honoring outstanding young women in technology and innovation. Amira bint Ibrahim Al-Qabba’, a Data Science student at the college, received the award in recognition of her pioneering efforts in the technology field and her distinguished record of innovation and knowledge. The award aims to spotlight innovative technical talents by evaluating creative projects, technical skills, and the participants’ ability to inspire others in STEM fields. It also seeks to encourage young women to pursue academic and professional pathways in engineering, technology, and modern sciences. Her participation extended over five months, during which she competed across seven global regions. She first won at the level of the Middle East and North Africa, and then advanced to win at the global level in Paris, following an evaluation conducted by an international panel of leaders and experts in technology. She was selected as one of the most influential and ambitious young women in the field. Dr. Manal Al-Ohali, Dean of the College of Computer and Information Sciences, expressed her pride in the college’s students, noting that “the student’s achievement represents the culmination of a distinguished journey of dedication and excellence. What she has accomplished reflects the remarkable capabilities of Saudi female students when provided with a supportive and motivating environment.” She added, “We hope that this achievement will serve as an inspiration for other students to continue striving toward excellence, innovation, and global competitiveness.” The participation of the College of Computer and Information Sciences aligns with Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University’s Strategic Plan 2025, which seeks to advance the innovation ecosystem, empower students, and enhance their active participation in various technological forums. It further reaffirms their growing presence in technology and innovation, highlighting their ability to compete globally and achieve impactful accomplishments.
