College of Nursing Organizes a Package of Training Activities to Promote Health Practices

The College of Nursing at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University organized a package of training activities during the past month of February, aimed at promoting health awareness and strengthening healthy practices among faculty members and students at the college premises. The training activities included a panel discussion titled “Emotional Intelligence,” which focused on developing effective communication skills and understanding and managing interactions with patients in ways that enhance the quality of healthcare services. The activities also included an awareness corner presenting educational materials on emotional intelligence, communication skills, and health awareness. In a related context, the college conducted a workshop on preparation for the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties examination, aimed at preparing nursing and midwifery students to successfully pass the exam and enhancing their academic and professional readiness. Another workshop titled “Hand Hygiene: A Simple Skill with Powerful Protection” highlighted the importance of hand hygiene as one of the most effective methods of preventing infections in hospitals and healthcare facilities and its role in protecting patients and healthcare practitioners. The training activities also included a lecture titled “From Spark to Innovative Solution: A Journey in Design Thinking,” which introduced the concept of design thinking, explained the difference between design thinking and traditional thinking, and reviewed its stages. These activities are part of the College of Nursing’s efforts to contribute to achieving the objectives of the strategic plan of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, aimed at developing students’ skills through extracurricular activities, enhancing academic excellence, and preparing qualified professionals capable of contributing effectively to healthcare development.
