The Deanship of Development and Quality at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University has launched the “Academic Excellence” professional development program, accredited by Advance HE (the UK Higher Education Academy), and designed in accordance with the United Kingdom’s Professional Standards Framework (PSF). The program is hosted at the University’s Central Library and will run until December 3, 2025. The program aims to develop teaching and learning practices among the university’s faculty members based on the Professional Standards Framework, contributing to improved quality indicators in teaching and learning at the university. Successful completion enables participants to obtain Fellowship (Fellow) status, helping strengthen faculty competencies and build their professional capacity. The program includes various training and mentoring sessions and workshops covering key topics such as the UK Professional Standards Framework and Fellowship classifications, problem-based learning, critical thinking, and aligning practices with the PSF, and collaborative learning, effective learning environments, and alignment with PSF standards. Workshops will focus on: “Teaching and Learning Strategies: Between Reality and Aspiration”, and “Excellence in Teaching and Learning: Challenges and Solutions.” The “Academic Excellence” program seeks to equip participants with a comprehensive understanding of the PSF, modern teaching strategies, methods to facilitate effective learning, and critical engagement in planning, delivering, and evaluating educational practices, while promoting continuous professional development. The program aligns with the Deanship’s mission to support Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University’s 2025 Strategic Plan, which focuses on preparing competitive graduates, empowering women’s leadership, and establishing an integrated ecosystem for research, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
