The College of Nursing at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University concluded the “Nursing Beacon” competition, held across universities in Riyadh and Al-Qassim, with the aim of fostering a competitive spirit among nursing students, showcasing their academic and practical abilities, and elevating the quality of Saudi nursing outcomes. The event took place at the University’s Medical Skills and Simulation Center. The college honored the winners of the competition at the participating university level. The Nursing Department at “Al-Ghad International Colleges for Applied Medical Sciences” won first place, while the College of Nursing at “Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University” secured second place. The final stage included realistic health simulation scenarios designed to assess participants’ ability to manage critical cases under the supervision of a judging committee from the College of Nursing’s faculty at Princess Nourah University. The competition highlighted key health issues, promoted health awareness, and underscored the essential role of the nursing profession in enhancing community health and developing professional competencies. It also provided students with the opportunity to engage in interactive simulation experiences. Organized by the College of Nursing with participation from 10 universities and colleges across Riyadh and Al-Qassim, the competition served as a dynamic platform to showcase students’ talents and skills within a motivating and competitive environment. It aligns with the College’s commitment to supporting and preparing its students to meet healthcare demands and empowering them to perform future roles with competence and professionalism. This initiative supports the objectives of Princess Nourah University’s Strategic Plan 2025, which seeks to harness students’ potential through extracurricular activities, and to strengthen cooperation among Saudi universities to enhance academic excellence and prepare qualified graduates capable of contributing to community health development.
