The Deanship of Student Affairs at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, in collaboration with Prince Mohammad bin Fahd University, is hosting the “Global Capacities for Sustainable Learning” program from 19 to 30 January 2025. The program targets University students and is held at the Research Center campus, with the aim of strengthening core skills and contributing to the development of a sustainable future. The program focuses on equipping participants with essential global competencies that support sustainable learning through three main capacity groups. The first group includes problem-solving, critical and creative thinking, and collaboration with others. The second group focuses on people management, sound judgment in decision-making, and service orientation. The third group emphasizes emotional intelligence, negotiation skills, and cognitive flexibility. The program incorporates a wide range of interactive activities, including workshops, case studies, role-playing exercises, group discussions, and field visits. Participants are evaluated through multiple assessment methods, such as the completion of applied projects, delivery of presentations, measurement of engagement levels, and self-assessment. Upon successful completion of the program requirements, participants are awarded accredited training certificates. The program aims to empower participants with knowledge and foster creative thinking by developing one competency per day through a comprehensive training plan. This plan adopts a flexible and descriptive training methodology within a learning environment that combines synchronous and asynchronous learning, enhancing interaction and dialogue, connecting participants with professionals, and allowing adaptation based on participants’ needs. Hosting this program forms part of the Deanship of Student Affairs’ efforts to achieve the University’s Strategic Plan 2025 by enhancing critical and creative thinking skills, equipping students with 21st-century competencies, and preparing a generation capable of competing locally and globally while contributing to sustainable development and the growth of the knowledge-based economy.
