Deanship of Development and Quality Implements a Series of Training Courses to Enhance Academic Competencies

The Deanship of Development and Quality at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University implemented a series of training courses and workshops targeting faculty members, aimed at enhancing academic competencies and developing cognitive skills across technical, educational, and administrative fields. The deanship offered a training course titled “Visual Note-Taking in the Educational Process”, which addressed the concept of visual note-taking, its applications, methods of integrating it into education, and building a visual vocabulary, in addition to introducing key applications that transform ideas and words into symbols that support teaching and learning. Another course titled “Digital Accessibility for Word, PDF, and PowerPoint Files” was organized to introduce accessibility methods for files, their content, and formatting. The course covered several themes, including creating accessible documents, digital accessibility standards, document formatting, and secure access to web content. Within the Department Chairs Empowerment Program, the deanship conducted a course titled “Creating a Collaborative Environment within Departments and Managing Conflict”, aimed at enabling academic department chairs to foster effective collaborative work environments and enhance their professional conflict management skills. Additionally, a workshop titled “Electronic Systems at Princess Nourah University” was held, addressing digital information creation and storage, as well as the importance of smart portfolios in education. Another workshop titled “The Role of Department Leadership in Achieving Program Accreditation” discussed the roles and responsibilities of academic leaders in quality processes and planning to meet accreditation requirements. These initiatives align with the role of the Deanship of Development and Quality in supporting the objectives of Princess Nourah University’s Strategic Plan 2025, by achieving excellence in education and learning, enhancing skills, knowledge, and values, preparing competitive graduates, and contributing to the development of a future-ready society.
