College of Humanities and Social Sciences Holds a Dialogue Session on the Arabic Language and Artificial Intelligence

The College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University held a dialogue session titled “The Arabic Language and Artificial Intelligence: Enhancing Innovation While Preserving Linguistic Heritage,” aimed at discussing the importance of the Arabic language in the digital age, its role in fostering innovation, and the challenges it faces amid rapid technological advancement. The session witnessed wide attendance from academics and individuals interested in the Arabic language. Organized remotely by the Department of Arabic Language and Literature, the session addressed several key themes, including the role of artificial intelligence in developing the Arabic language and enhancing its use in modern technologies. Participants reviewed applications of artificial intelligence in machine translation and text analysis. The dialogue also discussed the challenges facing the Arabic language in the digital era, particularly Arabic content on the internet and the need for advanced linguistic databases. Emphasis was placed on the importance of preserving linguistic heritage through the use of technology to document heritage and strengthen Arab cultural identity. The session featured rich discussions among participants, who emphasized the importance of integrating technology with efforts to preserve Arabic linguistic identity and enhancing the use of artificial intelligence technologies in developing Arabic content to serve current and future generations. This session forms part of a series of activities offered by the College of Humanities and Social Sciences to enrich the community and expand its expertise and knowledge, contributing to the achievement of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University’s Strategic Plan 2025 objectives, which aim to enhance skills, knowledge, and values, and achieve excellence in education and learning.
