The Deanship of Development and Quality at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University implemented a package of training courses targeting faculty members, with the aim of expanding knowledge horizons and enhancing academic skills. The Deanship held a training course titled “Building Test Questions”, designed to equip participants with the required skills to construct and formulate test questions and link them to learning outcomes. The course addressed several themes, including an introduction to tests and their objectives, and the design of question models based on approved rules and guidelines. It also delivered a remote training course titled “Performance Appraisal”, covering an introduction to the performance charter, its types, and the performance appraisal regulations. In addition, the Deanship organized a course titled “Interactive Whiteboard Using MY VIEW BOARD”, introducing participants to how to operate the interactive whiteboard, its educational features, and how to apply a model lesson using the program. It also offered a course on “Basic Transactions Within Academic Departments”, which focused on academic affairs and the responsibilities of the academic department head, including authorities and obligations. A lecture titled “The Art and Science of Learning in the Era of Generative Artificial Intelligence” was also delivered to clarify innovative approaches to teaching and learning in light of the rapid developments in AI. In a related context, the Deanship offered a course titled “Community Service and Effective Partnerships with the Community”, which discussed the philosophy of community service and the role of faculty members in community service domains. This aims to build a knowledge base for department heads on leadership strategies and provide them with the tools needed to create a collaborative collegial environment within academic departments, contributing to leading change. These efforts come within the Deanship’s role in supporting the strategic objectives of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University 2025, which aim to achieve excellence in teaching and learning, expand knowledge horizons, enhance academic skills, and provide competitive outcomes.
