Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University launched today, Tuesday, 3 December 2024, the first-of-its-kind digital media content platform at the level of Saudi universities, through a permanent digital exhibition dedicated to documenting the University’s media movement. The launch took place during a ceremony held at the Central Library in the presence of His Excellency the Assistant Minister of Media, Dr. Abdullah Al-Maghlouth, and Her Excellency the President of Princess Nourah University, Dr. Inas bint Sulaiman Al-Issa. The digital media exhibition, developed entirely at “Nourah”, represents a qualitative step in the University’s journey toward leadership in digital transformation and the creation of knowledge impact. It provides creative, visionary media content that reflects the University’s responsible commitment and knowledge-based initiatives aligned with the tools of the future, with a focus on strengthening cultural sustainability in a manner consistent with Saudi Vision 2030. The exhibition offers visitors a fully integrated media experience that aligns with the digital era, enabling them to explore the University’s journey from its inception through its visual identity, to its achievements in knowledge impact. This is presented through the display of more than 5,000 digital materials using creative artistic treatments, including infographics, videos, podcasts, and interactive content. This reflects the dynamism of the University’s sustainable media movement and demonstrates the evolution of its media and knowledge influence. The exhibition includes a suite of advanced technologies that enable interaction with its creative content, including a media platform equipped with the necessary tools for filming media interviews; a platform for signing agreements; facilities for podcast recording; areas for commemorative photography; as well as spaces for hosting workshops and panel discussions, alongside a listening zone for presenting audio knowledge-based content. In addition, the exhibition features augmented virtual reality (VR) screens supported by artificial intelligence technologies, providing a 360-degree viewing experience, as well as interactive and static screens, reaching up to 20 interactive display screens, to offer visitors an innovative interactive experience that reflects future horizons for digital media. On the sidelines of the platform launch, avenues of cooperation between the Ministry of Media and Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University were discussed to enhance joint collaboration in training, innovation, and scientific research. The aim is to develop the skills of media professionals in modern media and advanced technologies, and to focus on research projects that support digital transformation in the media sector. It is noteworthy that the spouse of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Her Highness Princess Fahda bint Falah Al-Hithlain, inaugurated the exhibition during the ceremony of the Princess Nourah Award for Women’s Excellence in its sixth cycle last March, as a distinctive platform supporting innovation and media sustainability, strengthening the Kingdom’s position on the map of global leadership in knowledge and digital transformation. The launch of the digital media content platform through the permanent exhibition comes as a result of collaboration between the Media and Knowledge Impact Administration and the Sarah Al-Sudairi Center for Women’s Studies, as a step that reflects Princess Nourah University’s leadership in the knowledge economy era. This is achieved through investing in the latest interactive tools and outstanding human resources, thereby reinforcing the objectives of the University’s Strategic Plan 2025, which seeks to lead knowledge and societal impact and support innovation in sustainable media.
