The College of Education and Human Development at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University launched the second edition of the Teaching and Learning Lab initiative, aimed at the professional development of faculty members, strengthening a community of professional learning practice, and providing a professional environment that practically enhances teaching and learning skills. The initiative seeks to build faculty members’ capacities and enable them to apply effective teaching strategies by providing a practical guide to enrich their instructional practices, in addition to professional meetings, focus groups, consultations, and support for colleges in this field. The initiative focuses on transferring knowledge from theory to practice through specialized workshops and applied lectures delivered by expert faculty members in real learning environments, while also providing a rich learning experience for participants. It also works to improve the quality of education by applying modern strategies based on artificial intelligence and digital technologies. The second edition includes specialized in-person and virtual workshops focusing on the use of artificial intelligence strategies in classrooms to develop teaching skills, in line with activating the seventh pillar of the Teaching and Learning Strategy. The initiative also features applied lectures titled “Teaching Practice / Diverse Practices” and “Teaching Practice / Gamification – Values-Based Education,” to activate the pillars of contemporary and student-centered learning within an enabling learning environment. This second launch of the Teaching and Learning Lab initiative contributes to achieving Princess Nourah University’s Strategic Plan 2025 by developing faculty skills, enhancing academic talents, achieving excellence in teaching and learning, supporting sustainable professional development, and raising the quality of education.
