Dr. Maryam Al-Khatib, Head of the Department of Biology at the College of Science, explained that the exhibition contributes to capacity building and keeping pace with global scientific developments aligned with Saudi Vision 2030, by highlighting the importance and achievements of biology and showcasing the latest advancements, including the department’s accomplishments. The exhibition covered multiple areas of biology, including technology, environment, health, and energy. Key topics included immune defenses against bacteria, parasites, and viruses; nanotechnology; innovative solutions to biological challenges; the importance of microorganisms and their relationship to health and beauty; and the role of recycling in reducing environmental waste, along with identifying relevant government agencies. The exhibition also included guided tours for school visitors through the Department of Biology facilities, including laboratories and the Herbarium, which serves as a library containing records and documentation of plant species. It plays a vital role in documenting, preserving, and identifying wild plants and crops in the Kingdom, and preserving their seeds, supporting scientific research. The exhibition contributes to Princess Nourah University’s Strategic Plan 2025 by promoting women’s scientific leadership, excellence in teaching and learning, and building bridges of cooperation with the local and global community.
