The Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University Judo Team achieved first place in the +70 kg category at the Second Open Judo Championship for the Visually Impaired, organized by the Saudi Federation for Visual Impairments in Al-Ahsa Governorate, amid competition from approximately 60 male and female participants. The University was represented by student Lamar Sultan Al-Dosari. The University’s participation came as part of its efforts to support students with disabilities, provide an inclusive environment that enables them to achieve their athletic potential, and identify outstanding athletes to enhance the University teams’ participation in international competitions and represent the University in internal and external sports activities. The two-day championship aims to empower athletes with partial or complete vision loss to participate in judo in a manner suited to their abilities and to strengthen sports inclusion for people with visual impairments. This comes within the Sports Affairs Administration’s contribution to achieving the objectives of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University’s Strategic Plan 2025, by providing a university environment focused on developing students’ athletic capabilities and enriching students’ skills and knowledge through leading sports programs.
