College of Education and Human Development: More Than 570 Community Services and 33,000 Volunteer Hours in One Year

As part of its efforts to strengthen and support a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship and to develop and reskill competencies, the College of Education and Human Development at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University achieved during the previous academic year approximately 576 community services, more than 33,000 volunteer hours, and more than 40 training courses, workshops, and counseling sessions in the field of developing human, community, and professional capacities. By the end of the academic year, the College achieved approximately 576 community services across various volunteering fields. The total volunteer hours recorded for the College’s affiliates on the volunteering platform exceeded 33,000 hours, contributed by 1,109 volunteers. The College implemented six projects within the Green Education Initiative, which links education with sustainable environmental development. These projects include: the Environmental Awareness Project, the Tree Planting and Agriculture Project, the Energy Consumption Rationalization Project, the Recycling Project, the Consumer Concepts Rationalization Project, and the Sustainable Sports and Health Project. The College supervised the evaluation of 16 master’s and doctoral theses from eight Saudi universities under the Research Tools Evaluation Service Program for postgraduate students and researchers from inside and outside the University, within the “Consultation House and Professional Development” initiative at Princess Nourah University. The College established the Saudi Journal of Psychological Counseling, issued by the Saudi Psychological Counseling Association under the supervision of the Vice Presidency for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research. It is a peer-reviewed scientific journal specializing in psychological counseling topics and publishes research in both Arabic and English. The College also issued the Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman Journal of Educational and Psychological Sciences, which is a peer-reviewed scientific journal. The College activated more than 40 courses, workshops, and counseling sessions in developing human, community, and professional capacities, including the “Teaching and Learning Lab (TLL)” initiative, which aims to empower university faculty members and provide a practical procedural guide to support faculty members in their teaching practices and excellence in education through applied lectures and workshops. This comes within the College of Education and Human Development’s efforts to contribute to Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University’s 2025 strategic plan, which aims to enhance human capital efficiency and environmental sustainability, and to provide a supportive environment for innovation and entrepreneurship.
