The Deanship of Admission and Registration at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University launched the “Academic Acceleration” system for high school students admitted to the University for the academic year 1446 AH. The system aims to accelerate students’ educational pathways in a manner that suits their capabilities and academic excellence, enabling them to complete university study in a shorter period. The system includes two tracks. The first is “Academic Acceleration to Bypass the Preparatory Year,” designed for high school students admitted to Princess Nourah University through direct placement into the majors they wish to pursue without joining the preparatory year, with selection based on the approved regulations, after passing all specialized academic achievement tests. After direct placement, the student completes the remaining courses that are not subject to academic acceleration. A student wishing to apply for the Academic Acceleration system to bypass the preparatory year must be admitted to the University under one of the preparatory year tracks for the health colleges or the College of Engineering and must have a composite score of no less than 89%. The second track is “Partial Acceleration,” designed for high school students admitted to Princess Nourah University, whereby the student is exempted from studying certain courses upon passing the designated academic achievement tests, provided that the student applying for partial acceleration is admitted to one of the following colleges: the College of Nursing, the College of Computer and Information Sciences, the College of Sciences, or the College of Business Administration, and has a composite score of no less than 89%. This comes as part of contributing to achieving Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University’s 2025 strategic plan objectives by driving university entities to provide high-quality education and strengthen university education through adopting best global practices in teaching and learning, educational methods, and blended e-learning.
