Career opportunities

Renewable energy engineers have a wide range of career opportunities available to them. They can work in engineering departments within government facilities, electrical power companies like Aqua Power, and sectors such as the Ministry of Defense. Additionally, the petroleum and minerals sector, including companies like Saudi Aramco, often require their expertise. These engineers are also valuable in engineering design and consulting roles, academic institutions such as universities and research centers, and prominent Saudi companies and organizations like SABIC, NEOM, and NOMAC. Their work primarily involves designing and operating systems powered by renewable energy, including wind and solar energy. They also play a crucial role in developing, managing, and analyzing wind farm projects, installing solar energy cells, and overseeing the operation of distribution facilities, refrigeration and air conditioning systems, as well as applications related to water desalination and distillation.

Nature and Goals of the Program

This program is set to prepare professional engineers capable of developing, maintaining, and monitoring renewable energy systems. Throughout this program, students will gain a solid knowledge of related fundamental disciplines such as electrical engineering, materials engineering, thermal engineering, and information systems. The students will also study advanced engineering subjects including Concentrating solar-thermal power, solar energy, wind energy, and grid energy storage. This provides a comprehensive theoretical and practical curriculum, qualifying them to meet the requirements of the labor market.
