Nature and Goals of the Program

The academic nature of Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering is characterized by its interdisciplinary approach, which integrates various engineering sciences into a single, cohesive framework. Its academic nature can be summarized as follows: Academic Theory: • Mechanical Engineering – Involves the design of machines, structures, and mechanical systems. • Electrical and Electronic Engineering – Focuses on circuits, motors, and control systems. • Computer Engineering and Programming – Deals with algorithms, artificial intelligence, and digital control systems. • Control Engineering – Covers dynamics, linear and nonlinear systems, and sensing and control systems. Practical and Applied Focus: The major relies heavily on laboratory experiments and hands-on projects in the design and development of robots and smart systems. It combines theoretical design with industrial application, preparing students to develop real-world solutions in fields such as manufacturing, aviation, automotive, and medicine.

K1 Define theoretical concepts related to mathematical and basic sciences along with their applications in mechatronics and robotics engineering.
K2 Recognize knowledge of mechatronics and robotics engineering theories and models to real problems.
K3 Acquire specialized knowledge of mechatronics and robotics engineering, informed by the latest advancements and technological innovations in the field.
K4 Synthesize the principles of mechatronics and robotics engineering with research methodologies to address contemporary and emerging engineering challenges.
S1 Apply engineering, scientific, and mathematical principles to solve mechatronics and robotics engineering problems.
S2 Examine modern engineering problems and trends, and to employ experiments and software tools to connect theories of mechatronics and robotics engineering theories with real-world applications.
S3 Conduct engineering design to produce solutions in mechatronics and robotics engineering field that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety, as well as social, environmental, and economic factors.
