The Department of Industrial Engineering and Systems aims to focus on industrial systems sciences and technology through an academic program that emphasizes the study of analysis and design of industrial systems for the production of goods and services, along with studying solution techniques. It pays special attention to both physical industrial processes and improving the work environment to achieve the best quality and obtain optimal results. The program includes co-op training where the student joins an industrial sector and applies what she has learned in the program to real-life situations. This, in turn, gives the student a more mature perspective on the fields of engineering and management, enabling her to understand her role as a practicing engineer in industrial and practical environments more deeply.
