The Department of Aerospace Engineering was established within the College of Engineering in alignment with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, aiming to enhance women’s participation in the fields of space science and aerospace engineering. The department aspires to become a leading model in preparing highly qualified female engineers both locally and globally in education, research, and innovation. It focuses on key areas of aerospace engineering such as thermodynamics, aerodynamics and control, aerospace structures, propulsion systems, and related disciplines including space systems maintenance, navigation, helicopters, avionics, aviation safety and security systems, electronic warfare, radar, and emerging technologies in unmanned aerial systems.
