​An overview of scholarships and their types

Scholarships at Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University
Saudi Arabia offers university scholarships for non-Saudis for the purpose of spreading Islam, learning Arabic languages, sharing knowledge, and strengthening collaboration between Saudi Arabia and international countries together to better serve humanity.
 The Department of Scholarships at the Deanship of Admission and Registration at Princess Nourah Bint Abdul Rahman University is concerned with following up the implementation of scholarship programs at the university. It organizes all admission processes according to the regulations adopted by ministry of education in the council of ministers decision number (94) date (29/3/1431 AH) that is regulating the controls of admission for the scholarships (non- Saudi students) in the higher education institutions in kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Academic Scholarship:
It is the seat granted for non-Saudi female student to study at Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University.
Types of Academic Scholarships:
- External scholarships for non-Saudi female students from abroad of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
- Internal scholarships for non-Saudi students residing in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with valid Residence Permit (Iqama).



Internal scholarships:

  Internal Scholarship Conditions:
The Saudi students' admission conditions and school regulations apply to Internal scholarship students at Princess Noura Bint Abdul Rahman University according to available seats and Institutions of higher education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the following is required:
Applicant's age average should be between 17-25 for bachelor and diploma grade of Arabic Language Teaching Institute for Non-Arabic Speakers.
The applicant has a high school certificate or an equalized it with the marks record from Saudi Arabia or outside.
The applicant must pass the general aptitude test and the attainment test, provided by the National Center for Measurement to register for a bachelor's program or an applied college diploma.
The applicant has not been granted any other scholarship from an educational institution in Saudi Arabia.
She should not have a previous record at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University.
The high school graduation year must not exceed five years.
The applicant must pass the medical examination stipulated by the regulations and instructions, and be medically fit.
The applicant must not be dismissed from any other Saudi educational institution.
Holding a valid iqama.
The student must fulfill any conditions specified by the University Council and announced at the time of application.
Tuition fees Paid by student after receiving the final acceptance -except for those accepted into the diploma program for the Arabic Language Teaching Institute for Non-Arabic Speakers -according to the following instructions:
  Tuition fees for the bachelor's degree scholarship students:
1- The student is obligated to pay the tuition fees after obtaining final acceptance - with the exception of admissions to the diploma program at the Institute for Teaching Arabic to Non-Native Speakers - according to the following:

2- Deposit the tuition fees into the university’s account at the Saudi British Bank (SABB) account number (075155150004) directly and deliver the payment notice stamped by the bank with the student’s name and residence number to the Finance Affairs Department at the Deanship of Admission and Registration (transfer via the Internet or ATM is not accepted).
3- The student is committed to paying the tuition fees before the beginning of each semester, noting that the student will not be able to register for subjects if she does not pay the tuition fees.
  Withdrawal request controls:
1-If the student wishes to withdraw before the start of the semester, she should contact the Scholarships Department via email and notify them of that.
2-The student has the right to a full refund of fees if she wishes to withdraw before the start of the actual semester.
3-The student has the right to recover part of the tuition fees if she wishes to withdraw after the start of the actual semester as follows:

4- After the withdrawal request is approved, the student goes to the Financial Affairs Unit to recover the financial fees due, if any, with the need to bring the following documents:
- Original residence.
-Bank receipt when paying tuition fees.
5-The student is not entitled to a refund of tuition fees after three weeks have passed from the start of actual study.
  Controls for requesting an apology and postponement:
1-If the student wishes to apology from the semester within a month of the start of the study, the tuition fees will not be refunded and will be transferred to the next semester.
2-If the student apologizes from studying after a month has passed, she is not entitled to a refund of tuition fees.
3-The student does not pay tuition fees for the postponed semester, provided that she has no previous financial dues to the university.
4- When the student enrolls in the summer semester, the amount will be calculated for her based on the number of hours registered in the specialization subjects, after reviewing the financial affairs of the Deanship of Admission and Registration.
5-The university has the right to stop the student’s schedule and withhold the results from her if she does not commit to paying the tuition fees without prior notice. Accordingly, the student must follow her academic account and the university’s website to know the latest developments.
6-The student is committed to updating her data periodically so that we can communicate with her, and the university is not responsible if there is any incorrect data or the failure of any notifications to the student.
7- The university must be notified if the student does not wish to complete her studies.
8-The student is committed to completing her academic years within the regular period allowed at the university.
9-Compliance with the university’s rules and regulations. In the event of violation, the university has the right to terminate the scholarship.

  The Required Admission Documentation for Internal Scholarship Students:
1. A stamped copy of high school certificate. In case of getting the certificate from outside, the student must equate the certificate from education ministry.
2. A copy of valid iqama of applicant.
3. The applicant's valid passport.
* With the need to bring the original documents mentioned above after your final acceptance for check conformance of documents.

  Criteria for admission to Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University for internal scholarships:
It is accepted to apply for the majors available for the year of admission, except for health colleges in all their departments, in implementation of what was stated in by the Council of Ministers' Resolution    No. (94) dated 3/29/1431 AH regulating the controls for accepting non-Saudi scholarship students in higher education institutions in the Kingdom.
A non-Arabic speaking student is accepted into the Arabic Language Teaching Diploma Program. 
Admission to Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University for internal scholarship applicants in bachelor’s Programs depends on the composite ratio criterion: total grades (high school + aptitude + attainment) according to the standard specified for each year of admission

  Procedures for applying for a scholarship application at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University:
o Electronic application through a registration link designated for non-Saudi female applicants from within the Kingdom according to the dates announced on the electronic page of the Deanship of Admission and Registration on the university’s website: (click here)
o All required documents are sent via the link with the PDF-JPEG form and sent.
o Upon completion of the application, the applicant will be given the application number, and the applicant will be responsible for following up on the registration application submitted through the electronic registration link to view its status.
o After the applicant obtains the initial approval of the electronic registration application according to the directives of the Ministry of Education, a final approval request is submitted for her admission to study at the university, and she is notified after obtaining the final approval. of the contact information recorded in her application.

  Scholarship End Procedures:
According to the regulation of admission controls for non-Saudis in higher education institutions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and their sponsorship stipulated by the Council of Ministers' Resolution   No. (94) dated 3/29/1431 AH: 
- If the original program period has expired, it can not be extended by more than half of it.
  General provisions and warnings: 
Exclude any application that does not meet the required conditions and documents.
Applying electronically and getting approval means the applicant gets initial but not final nomination unless she is informed about that, the accepted student will be notified after her final acceptance.
The applicant undertakes that all data and documents entered in her application are correct, and in the event otherwise, the university has the right to exclude the application.
According to what is stipulated in the regulation of admission controls for non-Saudis in higher education institutions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and their sponsorship by the Council of Ministers' Resolution   No. (94) dated 29/3/1431 AH:
· The scholarship applicant shall be subject to the residency regulations in the Kingdom.
· The scholarship student is not entitled to transfer from one university to another, and the university has the right to make an exception from this in the cases it considers appropriate.
· The university informs the concerned official authorities in the Kingdom of scholarship students whose postponement, apology or withdrawal has been accepted, as well as scholarship students who have dropped out of studies for any reason, in order to take the necessary measures.
