About External Scholarships

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia offers scholarships to non-Saudi female students residing outside the Kingdom to study at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, with the aim of conveying the message of Islam, teaching the Arabic language, disseminating knowledge, and promoting international solidarity. The Scholarships Department at the Deanship of Admission and Registration oversees admission procedures and follows up with scholarship students in accordance with Council of Ministers Resolution No. (94), dated 29/3/1431 AH.

Admission Requirements for External Scholarships

  1. The applicant must be between 17 and 25 years old for bachelor's and diploma programs at the Institute of Arabic Language Teaching.
  2. The applicant must hold a high school diploma or its equivalent.
  3. The applicant must not have received another scholarship from any educational institution in the Kingdom.
  4. The applicant must not have a previous academic record at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University.
  5. No more than five years must have elapsed since the applicant obtained her high school diploma.
  6. The applicant must be medically fit and pass the required medical examination.
  7. The applicant must not have been dismissed from any educational institution in the Kingdom.
  8. The applicant must meet any additional requirements determined by the University Council and announced at the time of application.
  9. The applicant must obtain approval from her country to study in the Kingdom, where such approval is required for Saudi students studying abroad.
  10. The high school diploma must be authenticated by the Saudi cultural mission in the country where the diploma was issued.
  11. The applicant must provide a certificate of good conduct issued by the relevant security authorities in her country.

Admission of Students from Arab Countries

  • Colleges of Science and Business Administration: Applicants must pass the approved tests and meet the admission criteria for each program.
  • Humanities Colleges: Applicants must have a high school average of at least 95 out of 100.
  • Admission is available for all programs except health programs.

Admission of Students from Non-Arab Countries

  • Applicants must achieve Level B2 in the Arabic Language Proficiency Test (Hamza Academic Test).
  • Applicants who completed high school in English in an English-speaking country are exempt from this requirement when applying to programs offered in English.
  • Applicants who do not meet the language requirement may be admitted to the Diploma Program at the Institute of Arabic Language Teaching, with no guarantee of progression to a bachelor's degree.

Monthly Stipend

A regular monthly stipend equivalent to that provided to Saudi students.

Travel Tickets

An annual round-trip ticket to the student's place of residence, along with reimbursement for the initial travel ticket to Saudi Arabia.

Arrival and Graduation Allowances

A two-month allowance to cover preparation expenses and a three-month graduation allowance for shipping books.

Educational Visa

The University covers the visa fee for students admitted for the 1448 AH academic year.

Required Application Documents

  1. A high school diploma or equivalent, accompanied by a transcript, authenticated by the Saudi Cultural Mission in the country where the certificate was issued, and translated into Arabic.
  2. A certificate of good conduct, or two letters of recommendation from recognized organizations in the applicant's country.
  3. A valid passport.
  4. A recently issued criminal record clearance certificate obtained from the nearest security center to the applicant's place of residence.
  5. A medical report confirming medical fitness, issued no more than three months prior to the application date.

*Original copies of all the above documents must be presented after final approval is issued.

Guidelines and Important Notes

  • Online approval of the application constitutes preliminary admission. Admission is not considered final until approval is issued by the Ministry of Education.
  • Applicants are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of all information and documents submitted. The University reserves the right to exclude any incomplete or inaccurate application.
  • Scholarship students are subject to the Kingdom's residency regulations and must remain registered in the University's academic records throughout the scholarship period.
  • Scholarship students may not transfer to another university except in exceptional cases approved by the University.
  • The University is committed to notify the relevant authorities if a student takes leave from, withdraws from, or discontinues her studies.
