Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University has been awarded the Excellence Award in Energy Efficiency Improvement for the years 2023 and 2024, achieving a 100% score on the performance card, by the Saudi Energy Efficiency Center (SEEC). The award was presented during a ceremony honoring outstanding government entities in energy efficiency improvement, organized by the SEEC and attended by representatives from various agencies. The university was recognized for its efforts in adopting innovative and sustainable practices to preserve the environment and improve energy consumption on campus. These efforts included a comprehensive set of initiatives, policies, and projects such as: Installing high-efficiency LED lighting units Using smart meters to measure actual consumption Upgrading and enhancing cooling systems Expanding partially into renewable energy Implementing predictive maintenance systems These initiatives involved the participation of university staff, faculty, and those working in operations and maintenance, supported by awareness programs aimed at promoting energy conservation and encouraging sustainable behaviors. Achieving a 100% score on the performance card for both 2023 and 2024 extends the university’s track record of excellence in this area. Notably, Princess Nourah University had also received the same award in 2022, underscoring its continued commitment to applying best practices in energy consumption efficiency and its ongoing pursuit of sustainability and institutional excellence. This achievement aligns with the goals of the university’s 2025 Strategic Plan, which aims to promote environmental sustainability, ensure efficient and sustainable campus operations, and foster a healthy and well-being–oriented campus life.
