The General Administration of Corporate Communication at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University launched on Thursday, 9 April 2026, the fourth phase of the “Green Sustainable University” initiative, aiming to enhance environmental sustainability and instill a culture of social responsibility, with the participation of university affiliates including faculty members, administrative staff, students, and volunteers from the wider community. The initiative includes a range of interactive and community-based activities, most notably tree planting in green spaces across the university campus to improve the urban landscape, increase vegetation cover, raise awareness of environmental protection, and promote a culture of environmental sustainability among university members. The fourth phase aims to plant (500) seedlings in accordance with the standards of the National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification, as part of the University’s efforts to expand green spaces on campus and contribute to impactful volunteer work with sustainable outcomes. It is worth noting that the “Green Sustainable University” initiative seeks to raise community awareness of environmental protection, increase green coverage within the University, and improve air quality, thereby contributing to the achievement of sustainable development goals, while also enhancing volunteer programs and activities within the University. The initiative also contributes to activating the national Saudi Green Initiative, within the framework of the roles of the Social Responsibility and Partnerships Department under the General Administration of Corporate Communication, supporting the achievement of the strategic objectives of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University by building a sustainable and healthy educational environment, promoting environmental awareness, improving quality of life, and protecting the environment.
