College of Humanities and Social Sciences Concludes the Second Edition of the “Maher” Academic and Leadership Development Project

The College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University concluded on Thursday, 9 April 2026, the second edition of the “Maher” Academic and Leadership Development Project, which focuses on developing the capabilities of faculty members in academic and research fields, contributing to enhancing the quality of educational outcomes. The project spanned five days and included a series of workshops and interactive sessions focusing on developing skills in publishing in indexed journals, introducing mechanisms for selecting appropriate journals according to approved standards, and training on the use of databases and electronic resources to support the quality of scientific production. The workshops addressed several key topics, including: “Mechanisms of Publishing in Journals Accepted in the Arab Citation Index,” “How to Verify the Appropriate Journal Before Publishing,” “Academic Leadership,” and “Exploring the Taylor & Francis Author Services Platform to Guide You in Selecting the Appropriate Journal for Publication.” It is noteworthy that the “Maher” project is organized annually to develop academic capabilities within the university environment, while providing an interactive training environment that facilitates knowledge exchange among participants and discussion of key challenges they face in their academic and research journeys. In this regard, the Head of the Department of Library and Information Science at the College, Dr. Reham Al-Suhaibani, stated that “the Maher Academic and Leadership Development Project contributes to enhancing the quality of academic and research performance and supports the University’s direction toward excellence and leadership in higher education.” She added that “the project reflects the integration of academic and leadership development through the provision of high-quality training content based on international best practices.” The “Maher” Academic and Leadership Development Project comes as part of the roles of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University in contributing to achieving the objectives of the University’s strategic plan by enhancing skills and knowledge, promoting excellence in teaching and learning, and supporting competitive academic outcomes.
