Under the Patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques… Princess Fahda Al-Hathleen Honors the Winners of the 8th Princess Nourah Award for Women’s Excellence

Under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud—may Allah preserve him—Her Royal Highness Princess Fahda bint Falah Al-Hathleen, spouse of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, honored on Tuesday evening, 7 April 2026, the winners of the 8th cycle of the Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman Award for Women’s Excellence across several theoretical and applied fields representing the award’s categories. The ceremony was held at the Conference and Seminar Center at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University. Her Royal Highness Princess Dr. Haya bint Khalid bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz Al Saud won the award in the field of Health Sciences for her work titled “Initiatives in Preventive Healthcare to Enhance Quality of Life and Support Health Independence for All Segments of Saudi Society.” Dr. Zainab bint Majed Al-Mutairi received the award in Natural Sciences for her work titled “Initiatives in Local Manufacturing and Supply Technologies to Achieve Sustainability and National Efficiency.” Her Royal Highness Princess Sameera bint Abdullah Al-Faisal Al-Farhan Al Saud received the award in Social Work for her work titled “Initiatives to Enhance Quality of Life for Persons with Disabilities and Special Needs.” Dr. Nawal bint Ibrahim Al-Hulwa received the award in Humanities for her work titled “Initiatives in Social and Cultural Transformations in the Kingdom and Shaping Public Perception Locally and Globally.” In the field of Economic Projects, for the topic “Leadership Initiatives with Impact in Enhancing a Sustainable Economy,” Ms. Fatimah bint Mishaan Al-Wuraiki was awarded the prize, while the award in the field of Arts was withheld due to the submitted works not meeting the approved excellence criteria. On this occasion, the Acting President of the University and Chair of the Supreme Committee of the Award, Dr. Fawzia bint Sulaiman Al-Omro, expressed her appreciation for the generous support and patronage the award receives from the wise leadership, reflecting confidence in it as a national platform that highlights the success stories of Saudi women. She noted that the fields of the award are well-established and clearly defined, while their themes are renewed each cycle in alignment with emerging developments. The ceremony also included a speech by the Secretary-General of the Award, Dr. Rashaa bint Ali Al-Ghafis, and a visual presentation titled “Legacy of Light,” followed by the honoring ceremony of the winners. The event concluded with an operetta titled “One Heart… One Nation.” The eighth cycle was distinguished by its focus on themes reflecting national priorities and Saudi Vision 2030, ranging from preventive healthcare and green supply chains to the preservation of national heritage. Submissions exceeded 500 entries, reflecting growing awareness of the importance of women’s excellence and its role as an active partner in building the future. It is worth noting that the Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman Award for Women’s Excellence is an annual event held under the umbrella of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, established by a Council of Ministers decision to highlight Saudi women’s contributions across various fields, promote the principles of innovation and quality, and support the development of a competitive economy driven by national female talents and sustainable innovation.
