The College of Science at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, in collaboration with the Professional Association of Statisticians and Data Scientists, launched on Sunday, April 5, 2026, the “Analytical Excel Bootcamp: From Tables to Decision-Making,” aimed at developing data analysis skills using Excel and building competitive analytical competencies aligned with labor market demands and digital transformation. The bootcamp, which continues until Tuesday, April 14, aims to empower participants—including administrative staff, students, graduates of the University, and individuals interested in the field—to transform data into strategic insights. It also seeks to develop data analysis skills, starting from data organization and processing, progressing through the use of statistical functions and formulas and pivot tables, and culminating in the design of interactive dashboards and the application of artificial intelligence tools in Excel. The bootcamp includes three training workshops: a workshop titled “Introduction to Data Science and the Role of Excel in the Workplace,” which introduces the use of basic and statistical functions and formulas; a workshop titled “Data Analysis Using Pivot Tables and Dashboards,” which presents pivot tables and advanced data analysis; and a workshop titled “Applied Project in Data Analysis Using Excel,” focusing on implementing analytical projects and building an interactive dashboard. The bootcamp also features an accompanying panel discussion titled “The Importance of Data and Its Analysis in the Labor Market,” hosting specialists to connect the outcomes of the bootcamp with workplace needs by integrating training with practical application through the implementation of real-world projects. The Head of the Bootcamp and faculty member in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at the College of Science, Dr. Shahra Al-Ghamdi, explained that the “Analytical Excel Bootcamp represents a valuable opportunity that equips participants with data analysis skills and enables their practical application, as Excel serves as a fundamental practical tool for analysis and dashboard development, contributing to transforming data into actionable insights that support decision-making.” The organization of the bootcamp comes as part of the efforts of the College of Science to contribute to achieving the objectives of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University’s strategic plan, which aims to empower students with technical and analytical skills, enhance readiness for the labor market, and build national competencies capable of handling data in the field of artificial intelligence. .
