Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University celebrated “Founding Day” today, Monday, 16 February 2026, through a series of diverse events organized by the University’s vice rectorates, deanships, colleges, departments, and centers. The celebration expressed pride in the Kingdom’s deep-rooted heritage since its establishment three centuries ago, reinforced national identity, and strengthened feelings of pride and belonging. Celebratory activities across the campus included a ceremony organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs with the participation of university staff and students. The ceremony featured the operetta “The Day We Began… A Nation’s Story,” which narrated the story of Saudi Arabia’s founding from its earliest roots to its present prosperity. The performance included musical and theatrical presentations that embodied the meanings of unity, pride, and honor in national identity. The ceremony was accompanied by the “The Day We Began” exhibition and the “Roots” exhibition, which showcased patterns of life during the founding era through simulations of traditional home spaces, reflecting values of family cohesion, simplicity, and generosity. Various university entities—including deanships, colleges, departments, and centers—are also engaging with the Founding Day occasion throughout the current week by organizing cultural booths aimed at strengthening national belonging and pride in the Kingdom’s history and its role in consolidating national identity. Additionally, the Department of Media and Knowledge Impact is participating with a digital media exhibition at the Central Library, offering visitors an interactive experience and an educational journey that reflects the historical depth of Founding Day. These activities come within the University’s efforts and national role in highlighting the historical and civilizational depth of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and in contributing to the achievement of its strategic plan by providing a university environment that supports culture and the arts and by creating a sustainable educational environment.
