The College of Medicine at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University will organize the “Internship Year” training program on Thursday and Saturday, January 22–24, 2026, at the College’s premises. The program aims to provide career guidance for female and male students of Colleges of Medicine across Saudi universities. The training program highlights preparing students for the internship year by introducing the program and its governing regulations, with a focus on rights, duties, and essential requirements. It also guides students in selecting the appropriate elective clinical specialty that aligns with their professional career paths. The program includes interactive lectures delivered by experts and specialists from various medical disciplines. These sessions cover key topics, most notably an introduction to residency programs in Saudi Arabia, admission requirements, and how to choose a subspecialty, in addition to providing information about the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties examination. The two-day training program also addresses advanced topics such as overseas scholarships, the most prominent accredited training centers for each specialty, and an introduction to various medical specialties, including surgery, emergency medicine, and ophthalmology. It further highlights the nature of each specialty and its alignment with labor market needs in accordance with international medical standards. The “Internship Year” training program comes as part of the College of Medicine’s efforts to offer high-quality training programs and contribute to achieving the objectives of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University’s Strategic Plan through excellence in education and learning, promoting knowledge and values, and preparing competitive medical graduates who meet labor market requirements.
