The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University has joined the National Alliance for Innovation Districts through signing an alliance agreement with the Research, Development and Innovation Authority. The agreement aims to enhance joint cooperation in establishing a national umbrella that brings together representatives of innovation districts across the Kingdom and facilitates the exchange of expertise in areas of mutual interest. The agreement covers several areas of collaboration, most notably contributing to increasing the number of researchers in research, development, and innovation fields in the Kingdom, enhancing local patent production, participating in the Saudi Forum for Innovation Districts, enriching specialized content, and exchanging ideas, resources, and best practices among innovation districts nationwide. The agreement was signed on behalf of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center by its Director, Dr. Maram Sabri, while the Research, Development and Innovation Authority was represented by the Deputy Governor for Innovation Ecosystem Development, Dr. Yazid Al-Askar. Dr. Maram Sabri explained that the integration of roles among academic and research institutions and regulatory and executive bodies contributes to advancing the innovation ecosystem and high-impact projects. She added that the Center continues its role in empowering university-based innovation and supporting female innovators through programs and strategic partnerships that contribute to building a more innovative future. The Center’s accession to the National Alliance for Innovation Districts comes within the framework of supporting and promoting the research, development, and innovation ecosystem, contributing to greater harmony and integration, enhancing technology localization in this field, and providing a thriving environment for innovation and social progress. This, in turn, supports the growth of a knowledge- and innovation-based economy at both the local and global levels.
