With the Participation of 12 Projects… College of Business Administration Concludes the “Emerging Entrepreneurial Projects” Competition

The College of Business Administration at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University concluded the seventh edition of the “Emerging Entrepreneurial Projects” competition, in which three entrepreneurial projects won the top positions out of twelve competing entries. The competition was part of the Entrepreneurship course, delivered by student teams from the College of Business Administration, the College of Computer and Information Sciences, and the College of Engineering, and held at the University’s Natural and Health Sciences Research Center. First place was awarded to a team from the College of Computer and Information Sciences for their project “PregniSense”, a smart wristband designed for pregnant women. The device connects to a mobile application to monitor vital signs, offers an intelligent health-reminder assistant, and provides secure connectivity with physicians to track pregnancy progress. Second place went to the “Firehawk” project, developed by a team from the College of Engineering. The project features an unmanned aerial vehicle equipped with thermal imaging and artificial intelligence capabilities designed for firefighting. Third place was awarded to a team from the College of Business Administration for “UniTap”, a smart attendance system for university students that relies on NFC/RFID technology, enabling instant attendance logging and seamless integration with academic systems. The competition focused on key themes across various fields, including education and skills development, safety and security, technology and artificial intelligence, logistics services, and health and medical care. It also highlighted the development of entrepreneurial and innovative thinking skills among students, showcased outstanding projects, supported promising entrepreneurial ideas, encouraged students to transform their concepts into feasible projects, and assessed emerging entrepreneurial ventures according to accredited professional standards. The “Emerging Entrepreneurial Projects” competition forms part of the College of Business Administration’s efforts at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University to contribute to achieving the goals of the University’s Strategic Plan 2025, which aims to support the ecosystem of research, innovation, and entrepreneurship among students, strengthen their skills, knowledge, and values, and equip them with essential twenty-first-century competencies.
