College of Computer Science and Information Students Secure Second Place in the “Naql Thon” Hackathon

A team of female students from the College of Computer Science and Information, “Sindan,” at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, achieved second place in the Naql Thon Hackathon 2025, amid competition involving more than 220 teams from across the Kingdom. The hackathon was organized by the General Authority for Transport. The event featured virtual sessions with specialized mentors to support the development of innovative ideas, with the aim of improving transportation operations through modern technology and creating technical solutions that serve the transportation and logistics sector in the Kingdom. The team’s second-place achievement was awarded for a graduation project developed by students Anfal Al-Kuraidis, Rama Al-Otaibi, Wijdan Bin Hazaa, and Ghaida Al-Enazi. The project is an intelligent solution designed to enhance the experience of individuals with hearing disabilities in public transportation, reflecting a high level of academic and creative excellence. The Dean of the College of Computer Science and Information, Dr. Manal Al-Awheli, stated that “this participation contributes to opening new horizons for students to work in the transportation and logistics sectors, and enhances their skills in analysis and solving technical problems, which strengthens their position in the technology job market.” It is worth noting that the Naql Thon Hackathon is an annual event that aims to motivate innovators, developers, and entrepreneurs to create technological solutions that serve the transportation and logistics sector. The event witnessed broad participation from university students, specialists, and entrepreneurs from various fields.
