Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, represented by its various deanships and colleges, organized today, Wednesday, 3 December 2025, a series of awareness events in conjunction with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The events aimed to enhance awareness of the rights of persons with disabilities and to highlight their abilities and creativity, and were held on the university campus. The activities underscored the importance of promoting awareness of the rights of persons with disabilities and integrating them into society, while also showcasing the university’s role in supporting inclusive initiatives and activities for all members of the community. This comes as part of strengthening awareness and fostering positive engagement with persons with disabilities both within and beyond the university. The program featured awareness booths designed to develop skills for effectively interacting with persons with disabilities, as well as educational and training workshops targeting faculty members, students, and interested participants. These initiatives focused on raising awareness, in addition to hosting participating organizations—including associations, centers, and specialized federations working in the empowerment of persons with disabilities—through informational and interactive booths. These booths offered real-life simulation experiences that illustrated the daily challenges faced by persons with disabilities, contributing to the creation of an inclusive and enabling university environment. The Deanship of Student Affairs, represented by the Support Unit for Female Students with Disabilities, participated through specialized informational booths showcasing available services, assistive technologies, and how to use them. The participation also highlighted the talents of female students with disabilities by presenting their inspiring success stories. Organizing these events supports the achievement of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University’s 2025 Strategic Plan, by reinforcing the values of inclusivity and responsible citizenship, empowering women in social and humanitarian awareness, and promoting human values and social solidarity within a safe and inclusive university environment. This aligns with Saudi Vision 2030, which emphasizes the empowerment and integration of persons with disabilities across all areas of life.
