Empowering women to innovate in sports technology... Deanship of Student Affairs organizes “Joint Innovation Hackathon”

The Deanship of Student Affairs at Princess Nourah University organized the “Joint Innovation Hackathon” on Wednesday, 19 November 2025, in collaboration with Loughborough University (UK), with participation from students of both universities. The hackathon aims to empower students in sports technology innovation, enhance their abilities, and develop their academic and professional skills. The hackathon, organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs, represented by the Sports Affairs Department and the International Students Office in the Student Programs Department, will offer theoretical and practical workshops entitled “Sports Technology for Women's Health,” covering several topics, including wearable technologies, personalized nutrition, injury detection and prevention, behavioural change, and promoting healthy participation. The hackathon focuses on equipping students with a number of skills, including innovation and creative thinking, problem analysis, and designing practical, evidence-based solutions, research and applied skills by transforming ideas into implementable models, and working in a global environment by communicating with students and experts from an international university, which promotes professional culture and openness to global experiences. It is worth noting that the launch of the “Joint Innovation Hackathon” represents a step that supports the efforts of the Deanship of Student Affairs at Princess Noura bint Abdulrahman University to build academic partnerships that contribute to raising the efficiency of female students and enabling them to participate in a global environment that stimulates creativity and opens new horizons for learning and practical application.
