The College of Engineering at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University organized the graduation projects exhibition for the academic year 2024, EmpowerHer Engineering Expo 2024, yesterday, Sunday, 19 May 2024, aiming to highlight the outcomes of the College’s female students and their alignment with the engineering labor market. The second edition of the College of Engineering female students’ graduation project exhibition series was held to showcase students’ capabilities in presenting engineering solutions and innovations to contemporary and future challenges, and to provide an opportunity for male and female students across engineering colleges to network, collaborate, and exchange experiences. The graduation projects exhibition is an annual event that reflects the College’s commitment to linking engineering education with practical application and graduating outstanding female engineers capable of contributing to driving progress in line with modern technological developments. The students presented 16 innovative projects serving the learning outcomes of all College of Engineering programs. The projects varied between experiments, studies, and engineering challenges related to relevant sectors, and offered innovative solutions that effectively contribute to the Kingdom’s economic development in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030. The graduation projects embodied engineering skills and practical applications by students of the Industrial Engineering and Systems Department and the Electrical Engineering Department through its two programs (Electronics Engineering – Communications Engineering), providing realistic solutions to various challenges across multiple fields, such as improving operational efficiency in sectors including transportation, inventory management, and healthcare; developing smart systems to enhance customer service; and analyzing data to support strategic decision-making. The projects were distinguished by advanced applications in areas such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, renewable energy, wireless communications, and automation control systems, and were evaluated by interested experts and professionals. The exhibition comes within the College of Engineering’s roles in contributing to the objectives of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University’s 2025 Strategic Plan by preparing a generation of competitive competencies capable of facing 21st-century challenges, fostering a culture of innovation and creative thinking, and developing students’ skills.
