College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences Organizes a Series of Health Awareness Events and Activities

The College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University organized, during the period from 13 to 15 October 2025, a series of health awareness events and activities with the participation of students from the Rehabilitation Sciences Department in the Occupational Therapy Program. The events were held on the premises of the college. The events focused on raising health awareness among students and university staff, enhancing understanding of diseases related to occupational therapy and prevention methods, as well as highlighting the importance of rehabilitation and psychological and social support for affected individuals. The activities covered several specialized health topics, including an event titled “The Role of Occupational Therapy in Spinal Cord Injuries,” aimed at shedding light on spinal cord injury, its causes, and prevention methods; an event titled “The Role of Occupational Therapy in Autism Spectrum Disorders,” aimed at explaining how occupational therapy enables individuals with autism spectrum disorder to achieve independence; and an event titled “The Role of Occupational Therapy in Stroke Cases,” aimed at raising awareness about stroke, the importance of early intervention, and presenting medical and rehabilitative aspects related to stroke patients, as well as the role of occupational therapy in improving their quality of life. The events also included informational booths, interactive visual presentations, and awareness and educational programs. The activities ranged between educational and recreational formats, through which the participating students presented simplified scientific information about the role of occupational therapy, raised awareness about its characteristics, and enhanced social and psychological support in related fields. In the same context, students from the Hearing and Balance Sciences Program in the Department of Health Communication organized an event titled “International Audiologist Day,” aimed at raising awareness among students about the role of audiologists and their importance in society. These events are part of the efforts of the College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences to contribute to achieving the strategic goals of Princess Nourah University 2025 by promoting health awareness among students, providing high-quality health services, and fostering a university environment that supports health and well-being.
